Adult Autism Assessment & Integration
Finally, an explanation that makes sense.
Understanding yourself changes everything.
For many adults, discovering they're autistic doesn't change who they are—it changes how they understand who they've always been.
Whether you've spent years feeling different, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or simply wondering why life seems harder than it should, an autism assessment can provide the clarity you've been searching for.

Have You Been Wondering...
You may have found yourself asking questions like:
Why do I feel exhausted after social interactions?
Why have I always felt different?
Why do I overthink every conversation?
Why do certain sounds, lights, or textures overwhelm me?
Why do I feel like everyone else received a rulebook I never got?
Why do I seem successful on the outside but struggle so much inside?
Why does everything suddenly make sense when I read about autism?
If these questions resonate with you, you're not alone.
Many adults spend decades believing they are broken, lazy, anxious, or "too sensitive."
For many, autism becomes the explanation that finally makes sense of those experiences.
What Makes Arise Assessments Different?
Most autism assessments answer one question.
Am I autistic?
At Arise, there's a more important question.
What does this mean for my life?
Most autism assessments end with a diagnosis.
Arise begins there.
Receiving a diagnosis can bring relief, validation, grief, excitement, and uncertainty--all at the same time.
That’s why our work doesn’t stop with a report.
Understanding your brain is the first step.
Understanding yourself is the journey.
The ARISE Approach
Every assessment is guided by the ARISE Process— a neurodiversity-affirming approach that moves beyond diagnosis to help clients better understand themselves.
Awareness— Making sense of your story.
Reframing — Replacing shame with self-understanding.
Integration— Understanding what your diagnosis means for your life.
Strategies— Identifying practical ways to support yourself.
Empowerment— Moving forward with confidence and authenticity.
The Assessment Process
Step 1 — Consultation
We'll talk about your questions, concerns, and whether an assessment feels like the right next step.
Step 2 — Comprehensive Evaluation
There is no single test for autism. A comprehensive assessment looks at the whole person, including developmental history, lived experiences, strengths, challenges, and standardized assessment measures.
Step 3 — Personalized Feedback
We'll spend time discussing your results in language that actually makes sense.
You'll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and begin connecting the dots.
Step 4 — Understanding & Integration
This is the part many providers skip.
We'll explore how your diagnosis fits into your identity, relationships, work, faith, and daily life.
Understanding yourself isn't the end of the journey.
It's the beginning of a new one.

Adult autism assessments are not typically covered by insurance, and Arise does not bill insurance for this service.
Many clients choose to self-pay because it allows for a more comprehensive, personalized evaluation without the limitations that insurance companies often place on assessment services.
If you plan to seek workplace or educational accommodations, a comprehensive diagnostic report can often be used to support those requests. If you have questions about your specific situation, I'd be happy to discuss them during your free consultation.
-
Yes. During the assessment process, I consider ADHD and other conditions that commonly overlap with autism. Many autistic adults also have ADHD, and understanding how these neurotypes interact can provide a more complete picture of your strengths, challenges, and support needs.
If it appears that ADHD is part of your experience, we'll discuss that together and determine the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations.

An assessment is valuable regardless of the outcome. My goal isn't to "prove" you're autistic—it's to help you better understand yourself. If autism isn't the best explanation, we'll explore what may be contributing to your experiences and discuss meaningful next steps.
-
Yes. Autism exists across a wide range of experiences. Many autistic adults have successful careers, marriages, families, and friendships. Success doesn't rule out autism—it often reflects years of hard work adapting to environments that weren't designed with your brain in mind.
-
Absolutely. Many adults—especially women and those diagnosed later in life—have spent years masking their differences in order to fit in. Masking can make autism less visible to others while creating significant internal exhaustion. Understanding your masking patterns is an important part of the assessment process.
-
If you've been wondering for a long time, it's worth exploring. An assessment isn't about proving you're autistic—it's about gaining clarity.

This is where my approach is different. Receiving a diagnosis is only one part of the process. Together, we'll make sense of your results, explore how autism has shaped your life, identify your unique strengths and challenges, and discuss practical ways to support yourself moving forward.
My goal is not simply to answer the question, "Am I autistic?" It's to help you answer the deeper question, "What does this mean for my life?"
